ABOUT ME

Personal Me

I'm a Holistic Mind-body Somatic Practitioner, yoga teacher, farm girl, storyteller, poet, artist, and seeker of personal growth and development.

My interests and passions include gardening, chickens, dogs, llamas, graphic design, floral beadwork, holistic wellness, and creating digital art to print on fabric, leggings, bags, totes, wall art, and blankets. Because of my multi-ethnic and cultural background, I consider myself eclectic and diverse in my views and spiritual practices.

I love dancing, historical romance movies, and all things farm life. People describe me as warm, outgoing, and funny. If I could snap my fingers and be anywhere, I would be dancing barefoot on a warm beach at sunset, with my pups, good company, and music that connects to your soul in that oh so good way.

Professional Me

I am the owner and creator of Soul Curiosity, a brand that inspires self-healing through art, storytelling, coaching, workshops, and virtual programs. As a Holistic Mind-body Somatic Practitioner, I support others in nervous system and trauma-healing resilience.

I have a B.A. in Sociology focusing on Native American studies from Western Washington University. As Co-director of the Native American Mentoring Program at WWU, I tutored and mentored youth on the Lummi reservation. After moving to Salt Lake City, obtained an M.Ed. in Educational Psychology at the University of Utah and became a counselor at NAYA ECA, a Native American high school in Portland, Oregon.

In 2010, I transitioned to the Nike World Headquarters for 6.5 years in program, product, merchandising, and brand roles. With a desire to be closer to family, I joined Wenaha Group, a Native-owned Construction Management company as Director of Marketing and Business Development. Eager to lead a team, I landed at Kitsap Regional Library to manage the Communications Department and oversee nine regional library branches serving over 80,000 patrons and two tribal communities.

In 2022, I received the National Center for American Indian Economic Development's 40 Under 40 Award. I am currently the Director of Marketing and Program Development for American Indigenous Business Leaders. I write business leadership and wellness curriculum, mentor Indigenous college youth, facilitate development retreats, and manage AIBL's national annual conference, in addition to graphic design and marketing.

Indigenous Me

I'm Indigenous from North America (U.S./Canada), Celtic, Norse, and of Germanic origin. My Indigenous heritage encompasses three tribes, Chippewa, Cree, and Métis, all of whom are represented within the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa community in North Dakota.

I'm a certified artist with my tribe, Turtle Mountain, and in 2019, with a desire to give back, I designed the Resiliency Woven Blanket. Believing in the power of art and its ability to heal, 100% of the blanket profits support Indigenized Behavioral Healing, an organization that facilitates workshops meant to empower courage and resilience within the Turtle Mountain tribal community. With the help of Turtle Mountain Tribal Council and Beyond Buckskin matching dollars raised, since its creation, the blanket has raised over $29,000.
